1-3 Final Score | Ghosttown Secures First-Ever Win Over MAFC
Week 15 delivered one of the biggest moments of the Volt League season so far, as Ghosttown Saints FC pulled off a massive 3-1 win over current league leaders MAFC. It’s the Saints' first-ever victory against MAFC and a major step toward securing a top-two finish, which guarantees a direct ticket to the semifinals.

Both squads came in on a winning streak and looked strong despite missing key players. Ghosttown was without Alejandro Noboa, Camilo Prado, Richard Wohl, and Jackson Habermascher, while MAFC missed Lenry Gallo, Jeremy Mwarabu, Braian Baich, and Hender Sánchez.
The action kicked off quickly, and Ghosttown set the tone. In the 22nd minute, Luis Mahecha opened the scoring after a sharp assist from Jovan Prado. Early in the second half, Prado delivered again — this time with a goal of his own in the 48th minute — leaving MAFC stunned and trailing 0-2 at home.
MAFC did manage to claw one back in the 67th minute after being awarded a penalty, which Luis Cunemo calmly converted. The hosts pushed forward with urgency, gaining momentum as they chased an equalizer. But that momentum took a hit when Fran Medina, a Ghosttown player, was sent off with a second yellow card for a hand to the face — forcing the Saints to finish the match with 10 men.
Despite the disadvantage, Ghosttown held firm. MAFC dominated possession for the final 25 minutes, relentlessly attacking in search of the equalizer. But in stoppage time, Luis Lugo delivered the knockout blow. In the 90+3 minute, he picked up the ball near midfield, skipped past two defenders with a self-pass, and fired a stunning shot from a difficult angle into the far bottom corner — a golazo that sealed the victory.
The win moves Ghosttown Saints even closer to securing a top-two finish and avoiding the knockout stage, while also sending a message to the rest of the league: they’re ready for the biggest moments.
