As the Volt League undergoes its new structural changes, several requirements for remaining in Division 1 have been updated. One notable change is the rebranding of Green Flag FC, a club that made a significant impact during the 23/24 season, now transitioning to Fuego SL for the upcoming season.
Following the conclusion of last season, Green Flag FC faced challenges in organization and preparation. Their struggles were evident during the Houston Super Cup, where they lost two games and only managed a draw. The lack of a head coach and difficulty securing practice fields affected their performance and raised concerns about their ability to compete at the Division 1 level.
However, after the Super Cup, a partnership between Green Flag FC and Fuego SL emerged. The owner of Fuego SL stepped in to support the struggling club, providing essential resources such as a dedicated practice field and a coaching staff. This collaboration has not only stabilized the team but also offered a lifeline to players who were at risk of being left without a club for the new season.
With this partnership, Green Flag FC will now compete under the Fuego SL banner, marking a new chapter for the club in the Volt League. We welcome Fuego SL to the organization and look forward to seeing them thrive under their new identity and structure.
